The guest speaker at Monday's Northside DFA meeting will be "Georgia10" a.k.a. Georgia Logothetis, a four-year front-pager at Daily Kos who now serves as Director of New Media for the Alexi Giannoulias U.S. Senate campaign. Georgia will be talking about her years at Daily Kos writing about everything from vote fraud to the Alaska Independence Party and answering our questions about the Giannoulias campaign.

Here's a quote from a 2006 Chicago Reader story on Georgia:

"About four or five times a day, taking a break from constitutional law homework or prepping for a mootcourt trial, she’ll type a righteously indignant rant clobbering the Republican Party on Iraq, warrantless spying, and the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal. We will also be discussing today's announcement by Forrest Claypool that he will be running as an independent against Joe Berrios for Cook County Tax Assessor. Forrest needs to collect 25,000 signatures to get on the ballot -- unfortunatly anyone who collected signatures in the primary can't collect signatures for an independent candidate for the general election. But we can sign his petitions forms, and there will be someone from the campaign at Monday's meeting to collect signatures. You can read more about this race here:

The meeting will also include an endorsement vote for Alexi Giannoulias (for details on being an NDFA voting member please see our bylaws at www.northsidedfa.com), and we will have updates on our adopted candidate Daniel Biss and our endorsed candidates Dan Seals, Pat Quinn, Toni Preckwinkle and Mariyana Spyropoulos as well as our upcoming Northside DFA spring fundraiser.

Last but not least this Thursday, April 8th, there will be a LGBT fundraiser for NDFA endorsed candidate Dan Seals starting at 6:00 p.m. at Ann Sather, 909 W. Belmont, Chicago.
