Thank you very much for including me in Monday night’s (Jan 17) I learned a lot from you all. And you all seem to enjoy each other and have a good time in politics. That’s what I’m aiming for too.

A message that I sent to the gmail address follows. For fun I’d attached a picture of me with Howard Dean.

Please consider me for membership. I fit your goals and methods.

I was present at a kick-off event at the Woman’s National Democratic Club in Washington DC for Howard Dean’s 2004 candidacy for President. This picture was taken later at a Democratic Women’s leadership conference.

I volunteered with DFA under the leadership of Kim Elliot at the Woman National Democratic Club’s “Winning Wednesdays” in the 2018 election when I still lived in Washington. I haven’t yet found the equivalent of the Woman’s National Democratic Club in Chicago where I moved in 2019.

    I love Chicago and Illinois.

I wrote postcards here in the 2020 election but my political activities since moving here have been nonpartisan (Fair Tax Amendment; Clean Energy Jobs Act, Ranked Choice Voting, and for the last year the fair redistricting of legislative districts in Illinois and Chicago.)

Thursday, January 13, 2021, I began collecting nomination petition signatures for my own campaign to as a candidate in the June 28 Democratic Primary to become Illinois General Assembly State Representative for District 12. I live at 990 North Lake Shore Drive.

I look forward to introducing to myself further as my campaign goes forward. In the meantime, I am very interested in learning about your activities. I look forward to meeting you tomorrow night. Best wishes. Abigail Nichols “Abigail for Illinois”

Why are we already voting on Alderman candidates? That race is so far in the future. Anything basically can happen. And there will no doubt be other contenders. What kind of “fix” is this early endorsement?

Hi, I’m a high school junior from Chicago. I’m interested in politics and creating better public policy so I’m looking to help an organization that deals with this through an unpaid internship or other work/projects. I enjoy writing and research. I’m a writing tutor at school. Tech is my other interest because CS can be applied to anything, but I would like to do something related to politics if possible. Thank you!

I have a question for Sen. Peters: Will you introduce legislation that requires that all elected offices must be filled by election only, regardless of when the office is vacated, and regardless of how much time remains before the next regularly-scheduled election? This legislation will require a special election, and it will also repeal previous legislation allowing such elected offices to be filled by appointment whenever vacated between regular elections.

When do you expect the next candidate training to happen? I had to miss the last one and am looking forward to this one.

I plan on attending my third NDFA meeting this month and am excited to be a full-fledged voting member!

The Chicago mayoral election occurs next year, but I think it’s critical that we work starting now to elect a progressive candidate, so that he/she has the support and resources necessary to counter the many “non-progressive” candidates who’ve announced.

I’m for Lori Lightfoot, a definite progressive. There may be other progressive candidates. My point is that we need to work to have our values represented by whoever wins this very important office.

    Thank you.

My name is Mack Kennedy, I’m a Regional GOTV Director for the Indiana Democratic Party, based in NW Indiana, mainly in the Chicago Metro Area. Part of my job is to coordinate out of state volunteers to help with our GOTV events leading up to the election. We will be able to provide short-term housing for anyone interested in coming by to help. Matt and Mary Claire:

I wanted to say thank you to the both of you, and everyone at Northside DFA, for providing me the opportunity to speak this past Wednesday. I really enjoyed the evening and meeting so many engaged Democrats. In particular, I liked discussing politics and policy with such a thoughtful group. You have to have your “A” game ready when you come to Chief O’Neill’s!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions.

    Dear NDFA:

I’m a member of 33rd Ward Working Families, and I have attended several NDFA monthly meetings, volunteering on Aaron Goldstein’s campaign for Democratic Ward Committeeman.

Rossana Rodriguez’ campaign for 33rd ward alderman is having a kickoff event this Wednesday evening, May 30, 6-9 P.M., at Chief O’Neill’s. Please feel free to invite your entire membership to this event. Rossana represents a progressive platform. Her page on the 33WWF website is on the website: https://workingfamilies33.org/

Please also search “Eventbrite Rossana for Ward 33” for event information.

Thank you, and we hope you’ll attend!

    Sincerely yours,

    Dear Mr Boyco,

Thank you for contacting Northside DFA

regarding your concerns. While we share your

frustrations with the current political situation, we

believe that electoral politics is the way to effect change,

not violence. We have the vote and believe that in the

long run, it is the best firepower. And that talking

to voters face to face for candidates we have endorsed is an

excellent way to instill hope. Real voters are

seldom as divisive and doctrinaire as some would have us

believe. We invite you to join us as we work for a

    better democracy.

Our meetings are the second Wednesday

of every month at Chief O’Neill’s in Chicago. We hear

from politicians and their staffers, and vote on whom to

support. Then we work for them.

With all due respect to our Progressive leaders who keep saying that "they have had enough of Trump and his GOP friends undermining American democracy and that it is now “TIME FOR ACTION.”

I keep hearing those words over and over BUT nothing happens.

    Things just keep getting worse.

Trump has fired his aids who urged caution for marching into war.

He has replaced them with WAR MONGERS who have wanted and pushed for WAR with other countries their whole lives.

When are OUR leaders who are suppose to be the protectors of our democracy, going to get some guts and organise a mission to physically apprehend Trump and his Republican protectors and STOP HIM.

Physically stop Trump before he creates a global catastrophe of some kind.

But before you say that “THAT is just not that easy of a thing to do,”

    So just do it

    before its too late.

If you do not do this and a nuclear war breaks out. then you and every lawmaker in congress who have refused to act, are responsible for not removing a RECKLESS MAD MAN from the oval office.

And thus, are responsible for the nuclear war and the death of all the lives on earth that it will create.

If I my ask, I have a dear friend of mine running for school board in District 15 out in Palatine and was wondering who I would contact to talk about DFA taking on another possible focus?

I appreciate the work you do and can’t wait to be part of the solution
